Robot

For this project, I collaborated with Studio Hammerhead Shark and National Guardsmen. Studio Hamerhaai designed and built the wooden robot, after which I developed a special ceramic tile pattern to cover the sculpture. The pattern was created by compressing three different colors of clay under high pressure. This gives each tile a unique graphic design, while together they form a single whole. The combination of wood, ceramics, and design resulted in a monumental work of art that brings together craftsmanship, collaboration, and playfulness. This project demonstrates how ceramics can be used in surprising ways beyond their traditional applications and how collaborations with other creators lead to new ideas and extraordinary results.
